Bodywork Modalities

Massage

Equine massage therapy is a complimentary therapy modality that works through the manipulation of the muscles of the body through physical techniques. It is used to promote relaxation, boost circulation, and reduce pain, inflammation and tension in the muscles.

Its benefits include the release of endorphins, relieving physical and mental pain and deepening connection between horses and humans through positive touch.

Acupressure

Equine acupressure is a complimentary therapy modality that falls under traditional Chinese medicine technique. It is done through the application of pressure to specific points on the body, called acupoints, to promote relaxation and the reduction of pain.

Its benefits include stimulating the nervous and lymphatic systems to promote healing and the reduction of swelling and inflammation through the body.

Aromatherapy

Equine aromatherapy is a complementary therapy modality that uses fragrant oils derived directly from therapeutic plants. It is used to promote physical and emotional well-being through the inhalation of the scent of and the topical application of various essential oils.

Its benefits include reducing pain and stress, and improving the mood and mental clarity.
